born in chaos series: part one

"What's your favorite color?" Odette batted her eyelashes, her chin resting on the palms of her hands.

"I don't have a favorite color," Sawyer grumbled with a deep frown on his face.

Odette ignores the annoyance that was heavy in the atmosphere, staring at the grumpy man with curiosity. "Oh, everyone has a favorite color."

"Do I look like I give a fuck about what everyone has for favorites?" Sawyer glared daggers at the determined woman, squeezing his tattooed hands around the plastic cup that contained his iced coffee.

Odette quickly noticed the coffee spilling out of its protective cover, smiling softly. She wraps both of her hands alongside her cup of iced coffee, pulling it closer. "Soooo, do you prefer green or red?"

Sawyer closes his eyes as he rubs the side of his head, "Neither."

"Umm, what about blue?" Odette takes a sharp sip out of her drink, keeping her eyes on Sawyer's. He shakes his head as he gives her an emotionless facial expression. "Okayyy," Odette looks down at her mini backpack and pulls out a notepad and a pink pen. Confusion hits Sawyer harder than a tsunami when he recognizes the notepad, which is ignored by a giddy Odette. "If it's not blue, green or red - you must be the biggest fan of pink, just like me." Odette grins at an open wide-eyed Sawyer, clicking on the cam. "But don't you worry, love." Odette leans in over the table, placing her warm hand on top of his cold one, "It'll be our little secret."
