Tom Stark is a 36 year old environmental scientist and zoologist. After his best friend gives him the idea to expand his research from land life to ocean life, Tom conforms to marine biology and ocean life studying. One day on a voyage off the coast of California he sees 3 creatures resembling female humans swimming in the Pacific Ocean. He noticed one strange thing about the girls. From their waist down, they seemed to have dark pigmented fish tails. He only sees them for a few seconds, but it was one sight he could never unsee. Ever since that day he wonders if those girls were real mermaids and if they could be biologically possible.

Captive of the Sea
Those who were taken... They never came back, dragged beneath the waves never to return. Their haunting screams were a symbol of their horrific deaths. Like shadows they lay in wait, the deep blue waters hiding them from view. With sharp claws they attack, Pointed fangs tearing into skin, Eager mouths devouring human flesh. Cally was taken, dragged under the water by one of the vicious creatures. But she was not devoured nor torn apart by ruthless claws--no. She was a captive. ~•~ Water instantly invades her senses. The scientists have been doing a research on the mermaids, a mythical sea dwelling creature, for years now. One day, a senior scientist, Jean Louister finally discovers the existence of the mermaids. The team sets out on a mission to capture the said creature for their further research and experiments. During the capturing, they succeed in taking a mermaid but in return they lose one of their members, who think is dead now and there's no use saving him. Jean Louister. But a beautiful mermaid takes a daring step and attempts to save the dying human being. Will he be alive? What chemistry will the two species have? Mermaids are real, and unlike humans they have powers. Every mermaid is matched with an element when they are born, its not there choice but the worlds in a way, you see the mermaids tail color tells them their element and powers some are more powerful with it and other's not so much to useless. Green tails mean their element is Nature and earth, orange and yellow is light, purple is shadows, pink is wind and then there is blue for water and red for fire. But, when a princess is born with a tail holding 5 out of 6 of the elemental colors and starts getting hunted at the age of one. There was only one thing the king could do to keep his precious babygirl safe and that's what he had done. Amelia Light was adopted at the age of one. Knowing the truth she feel's that these people are her real family even if they aren't by blood. Living a normal life with a loving family and an annoying older brother, Amelia never expected her life to change in the way it did. She had grown up to love the water, she could always hold her breath for a long time and the people around her would always be filled with shock and bewilderment but, to her it was normal. At the age of 5 Amilea could hold her breath for a minute but as she gotten older it changed when she was 10 she could hold it for 5 minutes easy! Now that she is turning 16 soon she can hold it for almost and I mean almost 10 minutes. She had loved everything about it but the summer after she turned 15 some.. Difficulties happen and Amelia discovers she has a tail! A hard secret to keep, and lots of difficulties on the road ahead, will Amelia be able to get all the answer's she is looking for?
