81 parts Complete
In the glittering world of K-pop, Baby Monster is born to a world of competition, expectations, and tight control over every aspect of its members' lives. Among the group, two members stand out: Asa, a 18-year-old Japanese rapper, dancer, and vocalist whose incredible talent is overshadowed by her role as the group's "motherly" figure, and Chiquita, a 15-year-old Thai maknae, a talented dancer and vocalist whose sweet personality and youthful energy have made her the fan favorite. The two have always been close, a bond that transcends the usual friendship between groupmates. But the company's manipulation of fan ships and public image forces them to hide their true feelings for one another. While fans eagerly ship Chiquita with the older member Ahyeon, the company pushes for this "ChiYeon" pairing, hiding the undeniable chemistry between Chiquita and Asa. As the group's debut approaches, Asa is on the verge of being eliminated, only to be saved by fan demand, though she's still pushed to the background in favor of the popular pairings. However, as the Baby Monster girls start their official promotions, Asa and Chiquita's bond deepens. Chiquita, tired of being forced into a false narrative, takes a bold step and declares that she doesn't want to hide anymore. No longer will they adhere to the labels the company has assigned to them, especially the "mother-daughter" dynamic between herself and Asa. Will Asa and Chiquita be able to escape the shadows and step into the light as a couple? Or will their love be consumed by the expectations of the K-pop industry and its fans? As the stakes get higher and their feelings stronger, they must decide if they're willing to risk everything for love-or if they'll remain in the shadows, forever caught between two ships.
