I thought the love of my life and I were on the same page about our future. We had a plan-a shared dream-and promises were made. Together, we would escape the duties that bound us to the royal kingdom and begin a simple life of our own.

But the night before our escape, my knight broke his promises and made a choice that shattered everything we had envisioned. Now, I am trapped- forever a princess in a castle I don't consider home, surrounded by no real family, no true loved ones. And my knight refuses to budge on the betrayal he's inflicted on our future.

He believes he is doing what's best for me, out of love and honor. But if he truly knew me- if he had ever really known me- he would understand that what's best for me is the very thing he took away from us.
