Author: Hi everyone!! I spent some time after releasing The Nothing and The Fox( which by the way you should read if you love horror and weird shit like that) to get stuff done. During that time, I slowly wrote this fic and played BOTW at the same time. I love The Legend of Zelda with all my heart and BOTW was my first game. Writing this brought me back to when I first played it at the beginning of quarantine when life was so uncertain. Anyway, hope you all enjoy!!!

Written in Blood . {After OoT/MM fic} Hyrule is on the brink of another bloody war when he returns, the hero that had slipped away to be forgotten by the land. No longer a hero, living a life of isolation far away from the land that had made him a legend once. Resentful and broken, Link hides it best he can, trying to focus on the future and forget. But Zelda remembers him, the person he once was. He's so different now, and perhaps she is too. The whole land is, transformed by war as Ganondorf works to seize all that he believes once belonged to him, in a time no longer. Both Link and Zelda find themselves in the middle of this war, forced to fight and strategize and deal with their own inner demons as well as each other, amidst the war the Hylians fight to regain their land and defeat the King of Thieves. > < . DISCLAIMER . While this story is a war story, so it features violence, some gore, and death, it has many lighthearted moments and tons of (attempted) comedy. So enjoy and read at your own risk. He woke, immediately pulling himself upward while his hands moved to his back, a reflex. There was nothing there, though. "Link. You must free me." The voice said again. Link turned his head, trying to find the source of the voice. "You will grow strong, and have the power needed for your task." The voice continued. "Please... help me." A lot can happen in one year. Ka-thump! Link released his held breath as he watched the stag he was hunting drop to the ground with little grace. After the return of Zelda and the fall of Calamity Ganon, Link slaved away for one whole year doing what he could to keep himself busy. Then on one fateful day everything changed. Knock, knock, knock! Link looked to his door confused as he looked at the clock hanging on his wall. It was 3:30 in the morning. No one should have been knocking on his door, but what caught his eyes was the small envelope that slid under his door into the kitchen. He placed his cutting knife down and went over to the thing seeing his name written in extravagant hand writing he knew all too well.
