I thought it was over.
When the fire devoured the pizzeria, taking me and my friends with it, I believed we had paid for our sins. That we could finally rest in the ashes of our guilt.
But life had other plans-or maybe death wasn't quite done with us.
We woke up. Not in the hell we probably deserved, but in a world of swords, demons, and blood-soaked moonlight. A world where humanity barely clings to survival. And somehow, for reasons I still can't fathom, they look at us and say:
"You're our only hope."
Hope? Us? The very souls who were once monsters?
I tried to tell them. I shouted, "We were Sinners! You're putting your faith in the wrong people!"
But this world doesn't care about what we were. It only cares about what we can do.
And we can fight.
So here we are-reborn as something between humans and machines, wading through battles drenched in blood and despair. Every swing of my blade reminds me of what we lost. Every demon we slay reminds me of what we could still protect.
But as the shadows grow deeper and the truth behind our reincarnation unfolds, I can't help but wonder...
Are we humanity's saviors, or just another kind of nightmare?
The fire may have taken our past, but under the steel sun, a new story begins.
