Annie always thought she wanted to know what it was like to die. The sun shining on you in your last few moments, air barely coming out of your lungs. Your hair all messed up.

Or maybe she'd die a quick, easy death. Where she couldn't even feel it and didn't even know it was coming. It'd be peaceful.

Annie wanted to die; that's why she came up to this rooftop. But instead, she was reminded about why she shouldn't. Why she should want to live. Why people still needed her.

So she didn't. But she did hypothetically die that day, anyway. The day she had to say goodbye.

Annaleigh Chase was your average teenager-spunky and annoyed with everything her parents told her. She loved sitting up on roofs of abandoned buildings, overlooking the houses of Buffalo, New York.
