The Old Man and the Sea
Theme: Loss
The old man sat on the beach, his weathered hands resting on his knees. The sun was setting, casting long shadows across the sand. He watched as the waves rolled in, one after another, each one a reminder of the vastness of the ocean and the smallness of his life.
He thought back to his youth, when he was a fisherman, strong and full of life. He would spend hours out on the water, casting his net and waiting for the fish to bite. He would come back with his boat full of fish, enough to feed his family for days.
But now, he was old and weak. He could no longer go out on the water. All he could do was sit on the beach and watch the waves.
He thought about his wife, who had passed away many years ago. He missed her dearly. They had been married for many years, and she had been the love of his life. He remembered how she would always make him laugh, even on the darkest days.
He closed his eyes and thought about his children. They had grown up and moved away, and he rarely saw them anymore. He missed them terribly, but he knew that they had their own lives to live.
He opened his eyes and looked out at the ocean. The sun was almost down, and the sky was a beautiful shade of orange. He took a deep breath and smiled.
He knew that he was old and that his time was coming to an end. But he was not afraid. He had lived a good life, and he was grateful for all that he had.
As the sun disappeared below the horizon, the old man closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. He dreamed of his wife, his children, and the sea. And he smiled.

173 parts Ongoing

After being transported into a novel, Qin Shu discovers she's just a stand-in, having taken her half-sister's place to enter the world of cultivation. Eight years into her training, her half-sister - born with no spiritual talent - unexpectedly finds her way onto the path of cultivation, and Qin Shu's secret is publicly exposed. Cast out by her sect with only a meager third-level Qi Refinement, she faces a grim fate: her striking beauty makes her an ideal target to be made into a spiritual furnace, doomed to a brief life of torment. As dawn breaks, Qin Shu stares out her window, deep in thought. Her only way forward is to focus on cultivating, sharpening her abilities, and staying ahead of her half-sister. Determined to survive, she waits until the others sleep, then sneaks out to train, embracing the grind. Then, quite by accident, she discovers that moonlight seems to enhance her cultivation....
