Long ago, before the stars lit the night sky, the heavens were ruled by Solun, the god of celestial balance. Solun had two children: Arion, the god of light, and Nymera, the goddess of shadow. Though they were siblings, their rivalry was fierce. Arion sought to illuminate the cosmos with eternal light, while Nymera wished for the peace and mystery of endless darkness.
To maintain harmony, Solun decreed that the sky would alternate between light and shadow. Arion would guide the world during the day, and Nymera would cradle it in darkness at night. For centuries, the balance remained, but Arion grew restless. He longed for the heavens to shine perpetually, untainted by Nymera's shadow.
One fateful evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Arion secretly poured his essence into a single radiant orb, creating the Star of Eternia. This star, if hung in the heavens, would banish Nymera's darkness forever. But as Arion ascended to place the star, Nymera intercepted him. A great battle erupted, shaking the heavens.
Solun, heartbroken by the discord, intervened. He shattered the Star of Eternia into countless fragments, scattering them across the sky. These fragments became the first stars, their light dotting the darkness like jewels. To ensure peace, Solun banished Arion to the farthest reaches of the cosmos, where he would watch over the stars but never again control the day. Nymera, too, was bound to her role, unable to extinguish the stars that now adorned her domain.
From then on, the night sky bore witness to their story-stars shining as a reminder of Arion's dream and the balance that must always prevail. It is said that on the rarest nights, a shooting star streaks across the sky, a fragment of Arion's eternal longing to reunite the heavens under his light.
Thus, the world embraced the beauty of day and night, a harmonious dance of light and shadow, eternal and unbroken.
