Daenerys Velaryon is the product of an affair with daemon Targaryen and Rhaenyra Targaryen, the eldest child, she does not know that Daemon is her father as Soon after the affair Princess Rhaenyra married Laenor Velaryon and it is believed to all that Laenor is Daenerys' father. In fact it is not until Daemon sees her that he wonders if he is the father of the young princess.
