I stood tall, lifting my chin to meet his gaze. He sat upon the golden throne, and I remained below. Was I afraid? I couldn't say for certain. He was my comrade, someone I would have died for, someone I had followed without hesitation. And yet...

"I didn't hear you." His voice was deceptively soft, still carrying that familiar warmth, but beneath it lay something heavier. Yet despite the sadness in his eyes, his tone sent a chill through my bones.

"With all due respect... you are still my friend."

His fingers tightened imperceptibly on the armrests. "And what do you mean by that?"

"I promised to help you become the King." My voice didn't waver. "But I never swore allegiance to you... Zahard."

Silence. The air grew thick, the weight of my defiance pressing between us like an unsheathed blade. I knew the cost of those words, yet I refused to kneel - not before the throne, not before him.

His eyes narrowed, lips curled into something between pity and cold amusement. He gazed down at me like I was an ant.

"I see..."

This story is about a girl named Midnight. Left alone, she walked around the floors of the Tower, not suspecting what adventures and acquaintances awaited her. How will relationships with new companions develop? What secrets will have to be solved in order to climb higher? And who will be able to melt her icy heart and principles?

We almost know NOTHING about 13 warriors and their adventure, so almost everything here, including the characters of the MCs, their interactions and the events are my imagination :)
