St. Ignatius Academy had seen its fair share of competitive students, but nothing like Danica Leilani Acosta and Lucas Wei Tan. Both are top achievers, both fiercely opinionated, and both too stubborn to share a classroom without erupting into argument.
Danica, the Englishera student with a sharp tongue and even sharper wit, never let anyone outshine her in debates, essays, or recitations. She was the star of her batch, the one with perfect scores and impeccable notes. People often called her "Ate Dani" out of respect-or fear.
Then there was Lucas. Lucas Wei Tan, the son of a successful businessman, and known for his natural charm and easy confidence. With his conyo way of speaking, "Bro, kain tayo sa canteen later? I'm so gutom na, grabe.", he was laid-back but secretly brilliant. Dani couldn't stand him.
The tension started on the very first day of Grade 11. Their Catholic school had combined two honors classes into one, and for Dani, sharing top marks was unacceptable. And from that day forward, she had only one goal: destroy Lucas Tan.
