I was born into a broken home.

Screaming and shouting was normal. I can still hear it in the back of my head when life gets too quiet.

I learned to memorise the sound of each footsteps to prepare for who I was about to encounter my abusive father? or my little brother?.

Locked in my room teaching myself how to breathe, in times where I felt like I was suffocating.

I was thrown into the water without teaching me how to swim and watched me drown.

Until I met him, he taught me how to swim.
