Quiet Heartbeats

Kittisak "Kit" Sriporn is the famous school basketball captain, while Jirathida "Jira" Suthirak, known as June, is the quiet girl who prefers not to be the center of attention. Since Jira spends most of her time alone, she has only one close friend, Orathai "Rin" Suwanpak, with whom she enjoys spending time. However, there is a secret that nobody knows: Jira has liked Rin since they first met. Rin is somewhat popular due to her academic success and because she is the sister of the school basketball captain, Kit.

For a long time, Kit had never really noticed Jira until last summer when Jira transformed from the nerdy girl Kit once knew. Kit has always treated Jira kindly because she is Rin's friend, but Jira's heart has always been focused on Rin, her best friend.

Rin, who is also the debate team captain, has always been a supportive friend. However, her life is not what many would aspire to. She often feels left out, even in situations where others might envy her. Uncertain of what she truly wants, Rin tends to prioritize the needs of others above her own. This has caused her to question her identity-whether she is just the "captain," the "best friend," or merely "popular."

Aek, the vice president of the swimming team, is a confident girl who has won numerous medals for her school. She appears aloof and indifferent to others' opinions until she meets Rin, who she doesn't initially know well. Aek is the first to realize Rin's feelings, which surprises her, as she typically doesn't concern herself with others' emotions. However, she suddenly feels a strong need to care for Rin, as if her past is compelling her to make this connection.

The narrative primarily focuses on Kit and Jira in the first ten sections and Aek and Rin in the subsequent sections.
