Their search takes them across the globe, from the vibrant lands of India and the mystic ruins of Egypt to the lush jungles of Sri Lanka. Along the way, the girl's past begins to intertwine with her present as memories of a complicated love resurface-flashes of an unbreakable bond with one of her companions. But is he truly the one destined to stand beside her, or is there a greater truth her friends are hiding?

As they face deadly adventures and uncover secrets that have been buried for centuries, the Guardians must prove their worth and earn the favor of the royal family in the  Kingdom Mytherra. For if they fail, the world will fall into shadow, and this time, there may be no rebirth to save them.
