In the aftermath of the war with Gaea, Piper and Reyna find themselves working together to forge an alliance between Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter. While traveling to negotiate with a rogue group of demigods threatening the fragile peace, they get trapped in an ancient labyrinth cursed by a forgotten Roman goddess of vengeance.
The labyrinth forces them to confront their deepest fears and insecurities: Reyna's struggle with loneliness and the pressure of leadership, and Piper's doubts about her place in the world.
