The cat sat motionless on the windowsill, it's green eyes glowing in the dim light. The lifeless body of a man lay sprawled on the floor, a crimson pool seeping into the rug beneath him.
Detective Novák crouched, inspecting the faint scratches on the man's neck. "Strangulation," she murmured, noting the marks.
Behind her, the cat let out a low, rumbling purr.
"Looks like the only witness we've got," Officer Papadopoulos muttered.
Novák turned, meeting the cat's unblinking stare. "𝘖𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳," she contemplated.
The purring grew louder.

He walked in the bathroom to get something and I realized it something to put me to sleep. He poured the chemical into the towel as he mumbled to himself and I watched in fear. He pulled me from the ground and tried to make me breathe in. I fought the urge to. I thrashed back and forth trying to get free but nothing worked.
