They call me evil, the villain of her story. Let them. They will never know what it is to fight for scraps in a world that demands perfection. They will never understand the cost of power, the sacrifices it demands. As the mirror hangs silently on my wall, I see not its answers but my reflection-flawed, scarred, and unrelenting. Perhaps I am the fairest of them all after all. For fairness is not in beauty, but in the struggle to rise, again and again, no matter how many times the world tries to bury you. _______________________________________________________________________________ She was not always the Evil Queen. She was not always known as the one who tried to kill Snow White with an apple. She was once a little girl named Grimhilde. Since she was young, Grimhilde's mother taught her vigilance and power were the ultimate things in the world, and nothing else mattered. After her mother died, Grimhilde worked hard to rise into the government and capture the king's heart. Her entire life was perfect...until SHE came. Snow White. Snow White was better than her in every way, in looks, smarts, and kindness. She got the throne and the people's respect with ease, while Grimhilde had to fight claw and tooth to get the tiniest crumbs of respect. This is the story of Snow White, retold from the Evil Queen's perspective.

Everyone knows the story of Snow White: blood red lips, ebony hair and skin the colour of freshly fallen snow. Her vain step-mother, desperate to be the 'fairest of them all' attempts four times to have her killed, until her prince comes to save the day. But what if Snow wasn't a princess, but a prince. And the queen's antique silver mirror contained not just her reflection, but a girl. Mirror can no longer remember her name - or life - before the queen imprisoned her. All day, every day, she finds herself at the queen's beck and call; a life of endless servitude and isolation. Snowdon is approaching his 18th birthday and is an increasing threat to the queen's right to rule. And his looks are putting him in the running for her 'fairest' title too. So the queen decides the quickest way to solve all her problems is to get rid of Snowdon. Permanently. But the girl watching their every move has other ideas.
