Beast taming is too overrated

I only promised I'd tame a beast, but when did I promise I'd actually use it in combat? Thousands of years ago, demonic beasts appeared from a strange portal like existence that opened up across the world, resulting in Earth being destroyed. The survivors traversed the universe, and found another planet, yet beasts still invaded, but to fight back, humanity awakened the ability to control the demonic beasts through help of the natives, becoming beast tamers.
