The world was put into a state of chaos once humanoid beasts invaded Earth. Guns had no use against these powerhouses and obviously, bare hands were no option. Humans began to evolve in order to fight these beasts. Ki was the energy that powered Gifts. Ki was capable of enforcing the human body. Gifts were the unique powers that humans developed.

Tengetsu Takizawa was talentless. Even at the age of sixteen, he hadn't awakened his Gift. Entering the academy had always been his dream. They would teach you how to use weapons if you couldn't use your Gift or if your Gift was too weak. But when an incident at the academy puts Tengetsu in a situation that puts his life on the line, his Gift awakens. Finally, Tengetsu can experience what it's like at the top.
