Liliana Li, a young swimmer, is mysteriously transported to the future world of Jukulimia, a red desert with running streams and a small village called Diloreka. She learns from Kiro and the village elder, Elara, that she is the "chosen one" destined to restore the land. Discovering an ancient scroll with instructions for a rejuvenation device, Liliana embarks on a perilous journey to gather materials, facing challenges including a betrayal by Rian, a spy for the Council of Shadows. Despite the betrayal, Liliana and the villagers build the device, transforming the desert. The Council, led by the Shadow Master, attacks to seize the device, but Liliana defeats him. Realizing the Council's persistence, Liliana and Kiro uncover ancient writings about the Council's origins and form alliances with other settlements.
