-Book one of "the great darkness"- 

"A great darkness is coming, and the clans must fall to one to defeat it;" is a prophecy given by their ancestors to the clans. What was simply meant to be yet another vague prophecy, led to the possible fall of the clans, made worse by the sudden silence of the stars.

The fate of all the clans falls upon the paws of a young tomcat who lives in a horrible home. Unloved, unwanted, and unknown by everyone but his kin. Then, he finally leaves. Injured, not knowing what to do and thrown into a pit of responsibility he never wanted, and doesn't even understand.

So, he sets out on set instructions he had received, although he's unsure whether it was real, or simply a strange dream. But either way, whether it's real, or just his mind playing tricks on him, he knows this is the only chance he has at an escape. And a real chance at life. Wherever his journey may take him.
