Beyond the Limit

The world of heroes and villains is never as simple as it seems. There is no pure good or pure evil - just shades of grey. Aiko Kurayami knows this better than anyone, growing up in the shadows where nothing is ever black and white. Most people place their hope in the idea of heroes - they believe someone will always come to save them, even in the darkest times. Yet, when that hope shatters, it leaves nothing but emptiness. Others, however, are cynical. They see both heroes and villains as nothing more than frauds, driven by selfish desires and personal gain, eventually cast aside and forgotten as they fade into obscurity.

Aiko, raised in the forgotten slums of Japan, knows these truths all too well. For her, survival is the only certainty. Her one hope is to escape - to get herself and her siblings far away from the ghetto, and farther still from the cruel man who's kept them captive in this hell. Believing that becoming a hero is her only way out, Aiko attempts for U.A with the only thoughts of keeping her head down and running as far as possible with her siblings when she graduates, but maybe her views and motivation will get turned around as she attends?
