Before she could finish, he lunged forward, gripping her waist and pulling her against him. She gasped as she landed against his chest, the heat radiating from him both intoxicating and terrifying.
"What the hell are you doing, Alex?" she demanded, panic rising in her throat.
His smirk widened, dark and predatory. "You think you can just walk away? You've crossed a line, and now you'll face the consequences."
Without warning, he crushed his lips against hers, the kiss rough and punishing. It was not an act of passion but a declaration of dominance-a punishment that left no room for protest.
