Qin Meili is an eighteen year old high school student. She is an introvert and a nerd. Her best friend Lin Xingxing is her best friend and classmate who has a new boyfriend. Qin Meili is angry that her friend is busy elsewhere. xingxing calls Meili self centred and unable to form a relationship either now or in the future. Qin Meili challenges her that she'll have a very fulfilling relationship when she is ready, that is after a college degree and a job. Xingxing challenges her that with her personality no one will be interested in her. Accepting the challenge Lin Meili sets up an online dating profile for her thirty year old self. Through the profile she meets Shen Rongyi. Shen Rongyi is a thirty five year old father of one. His daughter lives with his ex-wife with whom he has been divorced for ten years. He is a professor of Chemistry at a local college. His colleagues know him as sincere. His students know him as boring. When Rongyi's sister opens a dating profile for him he is indignant but reckons that he may end up making a friend. A faceless profile interests him and he starts chatting. Rongyi challenges Meili intellectually and she finds herself desperately craving his messages and phone calls. But Rongyi knows her as a thirty three year old unmarried woman who couldn't get married because of financial constraints. He respects her as a peer and often shares his life struggles with her. Meili adores being treated as an adult for the first time in her life. They decide to keep their friendship platonic and virtual so as not to corrupt it. What will happen when on the first day of college Meili finds Rongyi as her Chemistry professor? Disclaimer: This is an original work. I am the author. Do not copy.
