The present Creole tale is based on a children's tale collected in the book The Art of Being a Grandfather by the great French writer Victor Hugo. In it, the cruel and ungrateful child of Victor Hugo's tale is replaced by the Pepito of Cuban tales and the faithful dog is replaced by Canelo, who for the fourth time reappears in my stories as a symbol of the noble Cuban street dog, patriotic and faithful until death to his master, no matter how cruel and disloyal he may turn out to be.
The One-shots revolve around the journey of a devoted single father navigating the complexities of parenthood and his deepening bond with his sons.
Each story highlights the unique challenges and heartwarming moments they share, capturing the essence of love, resilience, and the unbreakable ties of family.
