The Arcane Trilogy: Better Call Paul - Book 1
Paul Goodbrook was born in Piltover, but like many unfortunate souls in Zaun, he lost people he cared for when the Topsiders battled the Zaunites. This put him down a path he didn't expect, where he will discover more about himself, whilst meeting lots of interesting people along the way as he navigates the political world of Pilltover and falls further into Zaun's crminal underworld. This is book 1 of a planned book trilogy. This book will take place over the year before the start of Act 2 of the show, then will follow Paul's POV through the events of the show. As such, this book will be more of a contained story, as it will mainly follow Paul for the majority of the chapters. The plan is for book 2 to be my own version of Season 2 with some original characters involved, so it will be a larger story with regards to how many characters we will follow. Then book 3 will be a season 3 story based on my season 2 story. My plan is to upload 1 chapter per week after I publish Chapter 3 (I had the first 3 pre written to see what numbers/feedback I get), but this may end up becoming 1 chapter every 2 weeks. If I'm able to get a lot of work done, I will publish chapters on a more regular basis outside of the established schedule. If any changes occur like a hiatus or something like that, I will update this description. DISCLAIMER: I am not a League of Legends fan, I am a fan of Arcane. I have researched into LoL lore for inspiration, but I will not be using this as a faithful prequel to the current game lore. IT WILL BE ITS OWN STORY. Born amidst the smog-choked streets and rusted spires of the undercity, she grew up with the scent of grease and danger in her lungs. A fighter, sharp as the broken glass that littered the ground, she earned her name with a ferocity that could cut through any who dared stand in her way. Once, Shark had stood by Vander's side. She had believed in his dream of peace, of making Zaun something more than just Piltover's shadow. His bar, The Last Drop, had been a refuge where she could momentarily forget the cold weight of survival. Vander treated her like family, and for a time, she believed in him like family too. But the line between loyalty and ambition is thin in a place like Zaun. When Silco came whispering promises of power, freedom, and a future where Zaun would no longer kneel, Shark listened. She saw in him a fire that Vander lacked; a willingness to burn everything and forge something new. It wasn't an easy choice, but in a city of hard choices, it felt inevitable. Shark tells herself she did what she had to. That Zaun's future is worth the blood on her hands. And maybe even the blood of the Firelights that keep standing in her way. Especially one of them.

I wrote this story when I was a freshman in high school. It is horrible, but it was a story that all of my friends got to have input in and they encouraged me to finish it. A group of friends has their lives changed forever after they are kidnapped and experimented on.Complete
