Gwendolyn Fairbourne is the only known human witch of the 21st century, a marvel of humanity and a target of the ADAD, a governmental agency tasked with researching the mythical. Their secret? Fairytale creatures - called the Folk - are real, and they've been hiding them underground.
Caught by the agency, she's forced to attend the Folk's university - Lyonhall Woods - acting as an ambassador, but she knows it's a cover. The ADAD plans to start something terrible between the Folk and humanity, but she doesn't know how to stop it. It's harder to know when she's befriending so many Folk who love her, but know more about the history of Lyonhall than they let on.
