In the beginning of the war Arjun told Shri Krishn to take his chariot in middle of both army .

Shri krishn took the chariot in middle of both army and stoped it specially infront of bhishma and Dronacharya.

Seeing them infront of him Arjun decided to withdraw from war and started crying.

the Shri krishn smiled seeing arjun crying to withdraw from war, and then begins the great lesson of Geeta.

Shri krishn said:

" Parth jo insaan ye jaan leta hai ki wo swayam kuch nahi karta. Vastav mai usi key katho koi mahatvapoorn kaam hona hota hai." 

" Khud ko mujhey samarpit kar do or mai tumhey iss maya rupi sansar sey par le jaunga." 

" Khadey ho or yudh karo parth." 

People thinks that geet was told to arjun, but in reality arjun was only an medium so that krishna can tell everyone how to leave life and atten moksha.

What happened If sri krishna didn't take chariot in middle of the army and doesn't stood it intentionally infront of bhishma and Dronacharya? 

Shri krishn says: EVERY THING HAPPENS FOR A REASON.
