Tying the knot with Sylus hadn't been the easiest thing to try and organise, your security for the event alone had taken you over a month to plan what with the ever looming threats that hung over the head of your husband to be. The ceremony itself had gone off without a hitch and you could still remember the way he'd looked at you when you'd entered the venue and begun your descent down the aisle. With the N109 zone visible in the near distance, the last thing you remember seeing before you were blinded with pain and sucked down in to the depths of clawing darkness was a sudden pair of brilliant white headlights heading straight for you. Or~ Your newly married life with Sylus gets off to a nightmarish start when you're kidnapped, the result of which leaves you fighting for much more than just your freedom.

Linkon Institute, Room 102B smelled of ammonia and ambition, the hum of fluorescent lights buzzing like a warning. Students moved like ghosts; frantic, desperate to impress. At the edge of it all stood Skye Altair, a name stitched from lies. Beneath the suit and smile was Sylus, predator cloaked in civility. He wasn't here for science. He was here to hunt. His gaze cut through the room until it found her. Lily Sinclair. She ripped off her goggles, frustration sharp in her voice. "The capacitor you gave me is malfunctioning. I can't work with junk." Already, her hands recalibrated, her mind rewriting the solution faster than the machines around her. Sylus watched. Not the experiment, but her. Electric defiance. A mind that refused to bend. A fire unbroken. Not a student. Not a girl. A weapon. And he knew. One day, she would belong to him.
