"If we go out there, we'll die," Mag whispered, her voice trembling against the night.

John tightened his grip on the edge of the ruined wall, staring out at the field of steel-clad soldiers and gunships. The air was thick with the hum of power and the distant screams of those who had dared to resist.

"Then we die standing." He turned to Mag, his eyes blazing. "But not here. Not now."

In the ashes of Earth's surrender, heroes rise-or fall.

The Intergalactic Blackwatch Union has arrived, bringing the weight of their industrial war machine to a fractured world. Earth's armies crumbled in days. Its people now kneel. But amidst the rubble, a spark ignites.

John, a reluctant leader with a singular power that could tip the scales of war, and Mag, a shy yet resolute survivor with secrets even she doesn't fully understand, find themselves thrust into a desperate rebellion. Together, they must navigate the chaos of a shattered Earth, hunted by an unstoppable enemy and haunted by a universe-spanning mystery that ties their fate to the stars.

As alliances form and betrayals cut deep, the fight for freedom may expose truths more dangerous than the Blackwatch themselves. Will the fire of resistance burn bright-or will it be snuffed out by shadow?

For fans of Dune, The Hunger Games, and The Expanse, The Spectrals Reimagined is an epic tale of defiance, survival, and the untold power of the human spirit.

Will you rise with them?

They were born from the stars, but the world refuses to let them stay. It has been three years since the Genesis Flares, the solar phenomenon that gave birth to Astrans: beings with abilities beyond human comprehension. Some see them as miracles, others as abominations but to those in power, they are a threat that must be controlled, exploited, or eradicated. Fear spreads like wildfire, and war is inevitable. Among the displaced and the hunted, a survivor fights to carve out a future for her people, refusing to let them be erased from history. By her side stands the one who saved her, a sister in all but blood, a friend who has vowed to protect her, even if it means keeping dangerous secrets. As alliances fracture and loyalties are tested, they must navigate a world that has already decided what they are: enemies. In the heart of the conflict, two minds once dedicated to progress now wrestle with the weight of their own creations. One, a scientist bound by failing health, seeks to undo the greatest mistake of his life before time runs out. The other, an engineer thrust unwillingly into war, struggles between duty, regret, and the burden of being the only one left to fight. Lines blur between vengeance and justice, survival and sacrifice. The choices they make will determine not only the outcome of the war but the future of the Astrans themselves. Before the war, before the fear, they were all the same. They were all stardust once.

"You thought you could threaten her? That you could hurt her, violate her the way that you did and walk away alive?" His voice was filled with raw fury, each word like a blow. "Please," the Sower gasped, his eyes darting to the ghastly charred remains of his men. "I- We didn't mean-" Thane didn't let him finish. With a surge of heat, the flames flared from his body, engulfing the man in a swirling inferno. The Sower screamed, his cries echoing through the clearing as the fire consumed him, but it didn't end his life-not yet. Thane controlled the flames, letting them torture rather than kill, a terrifying display of his power and restraint. "Didn't mean to?" Thane echoed mockingly, leaning down so his face was inches from the Sower. His eyes burned with rage, dark and unrelenting. "You meant every word, every threat, every action. And now you'll burn for it." ******************** In a world torn by war, where men and women are divided into separate kingdoms, Fern, a healer and herbalist, sets out to end the decade-long conflict. Her quest leads her toward the men's kingdom, but an unexpected encounter with an injured man changes everything. Little does she know that the man is the undefeated Ghost of the Battlefield. He was notorious and feared for slaughtering female warriors. Despite the hatred in his eyes, Fern makes the decision to heal him, forging a bond that neither expected. As their worlds collide, they must face the scars of their past. Can a single act of kindness heal old wounds, or will the weight of their history destroy them both?

"Those aliens are not my concern, the Earth and her populations are. Now, Callisto of the Scout Regiment to Salutem, as a citizen of this planet and a soldier under my command-" "I stopped being a soldier a long time ago. And those aliens have done nothing to you, you didn't even know they existed until I told you about them. I joined this mission not because I was ordered to, but because I wanted to carve my name in history. But I will not mark my namesake as a murderer of the very first species we have found that is on par with human intelligence! If my legacy is to be the protector of those you refuse to acknowledge, then so be it." The room hissed and flowed with whispers and gossip between the different board members, like a waterfall being heard through thick earmuffs. The only voice to be clearly heard was Director Striker himself. "You are rooting for a lost cause, soldier. It is the manifest destiny of us humans to reach out and touch the stars. And if the only way to touch those stars is to sacrifice a few savages, then that is what we must do." Callisto felt her anger towards a man she once admired swell in her chest and wash through her veins with a burning fire. He was proposing mass genocide simply because he wanted what belonged to them. The wheel of history turns, but nothing is ever new it seemed. "Have you read a history book in your life, Director Striker? Manifest destiny is used a mere few pages before a genocide. It's not a motivation, it's an excuse." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fair warning: this is my very first original story so please be kind to my baby, she is a lifelong passion and a labor of love. β€’β€’β€’COMPLETEDβ€’β€’β€’ β€’Please do not copy or post anywhere outside of these pages.

The world is a lie. Beneath the fractured skies of Drakeland, where diesel fumes choke the air and magnetic leviathans hum with stolen power, a truth festers in the shadows. The earth below, they say, is a wasteland-a graveyard of ash and radiation. But the edge whispers otherwise. A nameless narrator, broken and bleeding, scrawls their final testament in the dark. They speak of floating continents, of ships the size of empires, and of an unholy pact forged in the blood of the forgotten. The dream, they say, is not a dream. It is a warning. A beacon. A call from something ancient, something that breathes in the void between stars. The Rats, a revolutionary group in the underbelly of this rotting world, their sigil a skeletal hand clutching a rat's skull, a candle's flame flickering against the dark. They seek the truth, guided by cryptic messages woven into hymns, tapestries, and the whispers of the dead from a Saint who may not be a Saint. A Ghost who may not be a Ghost. But beware, for the Crown watches. The Emperor, ageless and unyielding, smiles as his dogs hunt the desperate. The King, a pig in gilded robes, feasts on the suffering of the weak. And the children-vanish into the night, their screams swallowed by the machinery of progress. This is not a story of heroes. It is a chronicle of the damned, of those who claw at the edges of a crumbling world, seeking answers they may not survive to find. The dream is coming. The eyes are watching. And when the veil falls, you will wish you had never awakened. Prokolev is a tale of cosmic dread and crumbling empires, where the line between savior and monster blurs, and the truth is a weapon sharper than any blade. Do you dare to remember?

Centuries after the Fall, the United States has been wiped away. The crumbling remains of the great American empire are home now only to savage, lawless tribes and packs of ravening Damned-the twisted children of the apocalypse. Most of those few who survived humanity's destruction spend their short lives in a violent struggle for survival. But some light still flickers in the darkness: the Blessed of Bountiful live in seclusion, relying on walls both physical and spiritual to protect them from the Desolation that their world has become. Among them are the Saints, those few men and women born with superhuman abilities that the Blessed see as gifts from God. The violent apostate tribes of the Northeast Kingdom have always been a danger, but up until recently its small size and the vigilance of its people have made Bountiful an unappealing target. As attacks on the community grow harsher and more frequent, however, even the steadfast Blessed are forced to start preparing for the worst. With her home's very existence threatened, seventeen year old Ever Oaks, a Saint with the power to heal, is forced to make a difficult choice, one that may come to define her people's future... Exile was a semi-finalist in Mark Lawrence's Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (#SPFBO). Fantasy Faction said it was "extremely cool," and Bookish Lifestyle called it "more than just a story, a journey and an experience." When I'm asked about it, I often describe it as "X-Men meets The Walking Dead." In addition to reading it here for free, you can buy Exile in e-book or paperback on Amazon.com.
