Carol is a half Alaska Native woman who agreed to marry a wealthy man from New York. A few years later. His grandma dies and she files for divorce while running back home. She leaves with a secret baby and feelings for the Russian mafia man she briefly met.
Mikhail is a Russian mafia man who is intrigued by Carol. She is smart, stealthy and beautiful. He wants to help her any way he can so he can learn more about her. But she retreats to remote parts of Alaska. No one could follow unless they know where to look.
They meet again when his plane goes down during a blizzard not far from where she is holed up during the winter. She brings him back to the cabin and nurses him back to health. He is rude to her, she thinks it's because she refused his help. In reality it's because she is supporting a clear baby bump.
Their time hold up is choppy and awkward. However they work through their issues.
Can Mikhail accept the baby growing in her belly?
Can Carol accept another wealthy man in her life?
Will rival people keep them apart or bring them closer together?

Casually, she participates in the app's trial run but finds herself immersed in the empathic conversations with her customizable virtual boyfriend, Ecto. In a society both connected and alienated by technology, Kate suspects an actual secret admirer is behind Ecto. Could it be the work of the techie student council president Dion or has Kate really found her soulmate in bits of computer code? She decides to get to the bottom of the cutting-edge app. Her search for Ecto's real identity leads Kate to prom, where absolute knowledge comes with a very steep price.
