This novel is not another rehearsal of the vast facts and figures concerning Ghetto Life, but identifies it's deeper contentions and concerns, and assesses institutionalized racism. It is of landmark importance for it offers insight, and perhaps most important, provides a continuous narrative backbone. This is a critical novel, which examines the assumptions and approaches the pain inflicted on Ghetto Life where necessary. I recognize the importance of keeping in the broad highway of thought. I write for a broad readership rather than one narrowly defined by certain cultural identities.
RAISED IN WRATH is more than just a novel of a changed man. It is the chronicle of Orlando Woods's life who breaks from his street tradition; a man who was in prison; one of very few who transcends the conflict to become a political figure; and a rare Muslim who, in freeing his mind of his demons, also became free to give his leadership to the poverty stricken.

‹‹Once upon a time, there was a special child who never aged. To protect it from harm, I hid it within myself, until one day I forgot it was there.›› Adele and Nina, two inseparable sisters, once believed their family was an unbreakable fortress - a safe place where happiness felt eternal. But in a heartbeat, that safety shatters, and their world is forever changed. Their father, their stedfast anchor, has disappeared without a word. The man who once loved them has moved on, leaving them behind. What they don't know is that their world has been turned upside down, and the reality they know is built on lies. For years, they will navigate life under this shadow, viewing their existence through a lens distorted by someone else's deceit, bearing the immense pain of betrayal. But breaking free from this fictitious world isn't easy, for it demands confronting an even harsher truth: the person behind the deception is the one they hold most dear. "Hope is a Gentle Flicker" is a story that explores the fragile dynamics of blended families, the weight of unspoken emotions, and the ways love can become entangled in misunderstandings and hurt. But maybe, amidst the darkness, there may still exist a light - a delicate, flickering light that refuses to be extinguished. A love that, though unspoken, persists, quietly illuminating their path. *** This book is a memoir based on real events from my life. Thank you for joining me on this journey.

Set in a divided city struggling with deep racial tensions, the story follows Kofi, a young Black man from a marginalized community, as he discovers the brutal history of his ancestors' fight against systemic oppression. His family's history is filled with stories of resistance, survival, and sacrifice, but also violence-both experienced and perpetrated. Kofi is forced to confront these painful truths as he embarks on a journey to understand the forces that have shaped his world. Along the way, he crosses paths with Lena, a White woman from a privileged background who, upon learning about her own family's involvement in the oppressive systems of the past, starts questioning her role in perpetuating inequality. Despite their differences, Kofi and Lena begin to work together, uncovering hidden truths about the city's past and the violent conflicts that have defined it. As the two of them get closer to exposing a conspiracy that has kept the racial divide intact, they are forced to navigate escalating violence from both sides-those fighting for change and those desperately trying to maintain the status quo. The city's streets become a battleground, with riots, protests, and acts of terror shaking the foundation of society. In the midst of all this, Kofi and Lena must face not only the physical violence around them but also the psychological toll that the history of oppression takes on their minds and spirits. The story explores the cyclical nature of violence, the need for justice, and the human cost of conflict. As the narrative unfolds, the question becomes not just how to survive, but how to break the cycle of violence and move toward a future where peace is possible.
