Witch Academy

In a world parallel to ours, made up of Humans, Fairies, and Witches, societal tensions are high between the two magical races. Humans make up its majority and live peaceful lives underneath the leadership of the Fairies.
The Fairies rule most countries and attempt to keep the peace of the world, but many have criticized how these winged magic users have gained too much power through nepotism, justifying their reign from the fact that they are able to harness magic.
Witches and Wizards are the minority. Having long been discriminated against by history, their numbers are small and their magic is nowhere near the level of a Fairy's. There has been... one evil coven 500 years ago that gave the Fairies a run for their money, nearly destroying the world in the process. But those days are long over.

Or so everyone thought...

The Academy for Witches and Wizards is surrounded by a magical barrier that traps everyone inside in and keeps outsiders out. This is how it's been ever since Eclipse arrived at the Academy.
Her memory is... foggy. As a 14-year-old, she was never close with anyone growing up, only knowing her parents and being homeschooled by them. She wasn't able to see the intricacies of the world outside before she was suddenly - and somewhat forcibly - enrolled into Witch Academy.

One summer of being a counselor for some 6-10 year olds, I noticed that the children really liked RPing magical people such as Witches and Fairies. So I decided to write a story about it. But obviously, you can't have a story without some good old fashioned character tropes and political drama. That is to say, this story is very cliche and I literally don't care bc I WROTE IT :/ (well, I had some help).
Some of the children worked with me on this, and in the background, I've been doing the backstory and world building. I've also been dropping lore bc lore is COOL 😎.
