After the tragic death of their parents, Lillian and her younger brother, Laurie, are forced to separate and are sent to different colleges by the will of their grandfather, an egocentric, wealthy man who loves classicism (especially Greek and Latin), who suddenly reappears in their lives and immediately takes a liking to little Laurie. Lillian thus ends up in the mysterious school of Malinconly, located in a place constantly shrouded in rain, with a dark and cold atmosphere.

Malinconly is notoriously divided into various social classes, with Class A being the most popular, yet it hides disturbing secrets. While Lillian adjusts to this new reality, she befriends a group of three students who rebel against these rigid social structures, particularly targeting the enigmatic student representative, Julian Jacobs, who is in charge of all the rules and separations among the students.

On a cold winter night, as the sound of rain beats against the windows of the dormitories and the surrounding forest is cloaked in darkness, the lifeless body of one of Lillian's friends is found near the school. The secrets hidden within the walls of Malinconly rise to the surface. The protagonist finds herself involved in a dangerous investigation to uncover the truth behind this mysterious death and the secrets concealed within the school.

As time passes, Lillian and her friends will discover that their missing friend was somehow connected to the dark history of the students in Class A. The story turns into a race against time to unveil the truth and protect what remains of their academic reality, as secrets unfold that will forever change their lives.
