In October 2008, Charles and Eliza Pierre-Decroix are found dead in their Scarborough home in Toronto. The Toronto Police Service are at a dead end, since they are unable to find any evidence that the killer may have left behind and no signs of forced entry were found. Their deaths seem unsolvable - well, not for Misane. Misane Pierre-Decroix, a 24-year-old investigative journalist at the Toronto Star and their granddaughter, vows to bring their killer to justice. One issue, Misane has a peculiar set of abilities, or superpowers, at her disposal - which shouldn't be possible. Made even worse when she enlists the help of Alice Kode, a longtime friend, or friend with benefits, Nadine "Twenty" Bellman, an ex-TPS Officer turned Private Investigator, and catches the attention of Three FBI Agents: Ethan Kaineford, Lockton Ryles, and Carmen Ziegler. 

Known to the citizens of Toronto as "The Vigilante", Misane is put on a collision course with the Toronto Criminal Underworld, her old High School Rival and Toronto Socialite Maxine Rivers, and infamous serial killer known as "The Bone Doctor".
