In October 2008, Charles and Eliza Pierre-Decroix are found dead in their Scarborough home in Toronto. The Toronto Police Service are at a dead end, since they are unable to find any evidence that the killer may have left behind and no signs of forced entry were found. Their deaths seem unsolvable - well, not for Misane. Misane Pierre-Decroix, a 24-year-old investigative journalist at the Toronto Star and their granddaughter, vows to bring their killer to justice. One issue, Misane has a peculiar set of abilities, or superpowers, at her disposal - which shouldn't be possible. Made even worse when she enlists the help of Alice Kode, a longtime friend, or friend with benefits, Nadine "Twenty" Bellman, an ex-TPS Officer turned Private Investigator, and catches the attention of Three FBI Agents: Ethan Kaineford, Lockton Ryles, and Carmen Ziegler. 

Known to the citizens of Toronto as "The Vigilante", Misane is put on a collision course with the Toronto Criminal Underworld, her old High School Rival and Toronto Socialite Maxine Rivers, and infamous serial killer known as "The Bone Doctor". On Her Hunt for The Truth, Misane must come to terms with her growing legacy of vigilantism, unlikely allies, and dirty secrets.
