In the 1600s, Isabelle was a princess who lived in a grand castle, caught between her royal duties and the dangerous world of vampires. However, everything changed in the 1910s when Mikael, their vengeful father, found them. In a horrific act of betrayal, he set fire to an opera house, trapping Isabelle and Marcel inside. The Mikaelsons fled, leaving Isabelle and Marcel to fend for themselves, and she was devastated by their abandonment.
After surviving the flames, Isabelle's path diverged as she met Damon Salvatore in the 1930s. The two quickly formed an inseparable bond, their relationship blossoming into one of deep friendship and sibling-like loyalty. For decades, Damon and Isabelle were each other's constants in an ever-changing world.
When Damon reaches out to Isabelle for help in protecting Elena from Klaus, Isabelle is confronted with an impossible dilemma. Klaus-her former lover-has returned, and Isabelle is torn between her old feelings for him and her loyalty to Damon. She hides her true emotions from the Scooby Gang, helping them but secretly plotting her own course of action. Klaus's betrayal still haunts her, and while she helps protect Elena, she's still plotting how she will make Klaus pay for leaving her to die.

However the newest Scottish visitors have a long history that they plan on bringing to town. --- "They don't like the idea of new vampires in New Orleans." He reports shamefully, holding his head downwards. The butler seemed as though fearing for his life. I hold the lavender ball gown up to my chest, looking at myself in the floor length mirror. "On the contrary, dear Joseph," I pause, listening as my sweet Scottish accented voice floats around the room in tranquility. I turn to him, my ice eyes resting on him. "We are very, very old vampires." I drop the dress, and the butler looks up in fear. My movements are as fast as a striking snake, tearing out his throat in such a swift movement there's barely any mess. I look into his eyes as he raises his hands to his neck, falling to the ground in a light thump. I walk back and pick up the lavender dress, admiring my smiling reflection in the mirror as the tragically human butler bleeds out onto the expensive Russian rug. --- Some plot lines and moments of the Originals has been altered for this story.
