Sixteen year old Melanie Brooks left everything behind in her old town including her two best friends, Baylie and Liam. Melanie has a crush on Liam, and she thought of Baylie as a sister. So she wasnt really looking forward to moving hundreds of miles away from them to california, but she had to because her mom sent her away to live with her aunt. She then meets Damon Peirce, the jerk and player at the school. They both end up surfing together on a team, and at school they had every class together. They always arguee and dont get along , so why is it that Melanie enjoys being with him? they are always together. As Damon gets to know Melanie more he starts leaving his player ways and loses interest in other girls. Baylie and Liam visit her often and Melanie is confused and doesnt know if she and Liam will ever be anything more than friends, or if she should just go for Damon.
