The mortuary stood at the edge of the city, a monolithic structure shrouded in silence and secrets. Its walls bore witness to countless stories of lives ended too soon, whispers of the unknown lingering in its dimly lit halls. For most, it was a place of closure-a final destination where the dead found rest. But for Lyra Moore, it was a labyrinth of unanswered questions, where reality blurred and darkness thrived. Lyra had taken the job at St. Helena's Mortuary hoping to leave her troubled past behind. Yet, as the nights grew longer, and the shadows deeper, she found herself ensnared by the eerie aura of the place. Strange symbols carved into bodies, cryptic whispers in the silence, and a growing sense that someone-or something-was watching. This was no ordinary mortuary. It was a threshold between the living and the dead, where every corpse held a story and every shadow concealed a secret. Lyra was about to discover that the dead don't always rest-and some secrets are buried for a reason. What began as a job to escape her own demons would soon become a descent into the unknown, where the line between life and death was as fragile as the whispers in the dark.

In a city that's been quietly burning from the inside out, Lyra Smith just wants to finish school, survive her past, and stay far away from the name that ruined her childhood. But then he shows up- Adrian Thorne. Elusive. Cold-eyed. Tied to the underground scene no one talks about. Their first meeting ends in broken glass. The second, in silence. The third, with her pinned against a wall-heart racing, mouth lying. He calls her trouble like it's a prayer and a warning all at once. He calls her love like a sinner. He calls her darling like it's a death sentence. She hates him. Wants him. Doesn't trust a word he says-and yet, she finds herself caught in the storm he carries like a second skin. Because Adrian doesn't forget. And Lyra's name is stitched into the wreckage of something he can't forgive. In a city full of secrets, obsession isn't love. But it might be all they have left.
