"Close your eyes." Jake demanded, his eyes never leaving hers.
Her heart skipped a beat, her lips trembled as she couldn't find the words or the strength to refuse or fight back. She refused to think about the possible ending, about it turning into a kiss, but a part of her was hoping for it. She knew she couldn't hide her feelings anymore.
She finally gave in. She closed her eyes, her heart almost leaping out of her chest as she held her breath. Then she could feel him, inching towards her, his breath fanning against her face. Mind and heart racing as she wait for his lips to finally collide with hers.
But there was nothing.
Instead, she could see flashes of light through her eye lids, people's snickering echoed through the quiet garden.
She finally opened her eyes.
