Y/n, known in game as Vyke, was a beta tester for SAO along with his younger brother named Kenji. Coming home early from school due to a migraine, he takes a nap, only to awaken and see that SAO has been revealed to be a death trap, and his brother is trapped inside. Not wanting to leave him to die, Y/n dives back into the game he spent months beta testing on to try and find and protect his brother.

Then, Kirito gets an email from Agil with a picture, and in it was of a girl with snow white hair and icy blue eyes and wings made of crystal. Kirito tells Asuna to wait for him, that he'll save Ume, and return.
