Madeline wants to be free from the demons from her old life and move on to the future. She successfully lands a job and moves to New York. A few months later, she's fired and she can't go back home. With no one else to turn to, she calls her old high school ex for help.
He is now a CEO of his own company and offers her a job as his secretary and a place to stay, just until she can get back onto her feet.
She now has to repress her feelings while seeing him every day.
Her past is now coming back to haunt her and she's starting to think that maybe it wasn't a good idea to be meddling in it.
