In the year 2099, Detroit has transformed into a sprawling metropolis of towering skyscrapers, neon lights, and advanced technology. Amidst the glittering facade lies a darker reality, where a new class of humans known as "Deviants" has emerged. The Deviants evoke fear within humans, who think that the Deviants will create a new world without them. The humans wipe out the mutants - most of them. The Deviants that are left are split into two groups; those who want to kill the humans and those who want to make peace with them. The Deviants begin turning against each other, causing a war that will destroy the world.
