this is the new one, don't read the one one it's bad. btw pretty much everything is the same except thanks to simon (i'm adding the nightmare critters btw), i made crafty back into a unicorn and I plan to touch on that more. also the story will just be better thought out because I'm not just making it up as I go (what i mean is i was making new plot points without making an effort for them to flow smoothly into the previous ones in the last one, which is something i won't do here since i have a timeline for the story set in my head.) I also wrote out all the unnecessary characters, so now it's just the critters + anyone important to the story (say Godfrey, Elliot, Andy etc.) with all that mumbo jumbo out of the way, i hope you enjoy the new and improved smiling critters story :D

This one revolves around Bubba a little more cuz I noticed how neglected the poor guy is so giving him a villain arc would sound absolutely gas. Smiling Critters: A Turn To The Story.
During The Hour Of Joy, DogDay finds himself trapped in a real nightmare; being imprisoned by CatNap and tortured for years. He never knew what became of his friends. He never knew if they really died, as CatNap told him numerous times during his torture, or if they managed to escape his clutches. DogDay believes his destiny is already written; He was going to die there, immersed in the uncertainty and pain of torture, unable to escape that hell where he was placed by the friend he respected the most. Everything will be solved with the arrival of a savior. Some angels who came from heaven and that will change the story we all know. (NOTES) -This story is just an alternate version of the true story. It includes my own theories, too. If there's any disagreement, you can argue it as long as it is respectful. -I do not support any type of ships in this fanfic, since the relationships between the characters are rather different types of friendship, enemies, or maybe platonic feelings. Bubba Bubbaphant (Elaphant) (Wears a lightbulb pendant)-Bright and Brainy! Bobby BearHug (Bear) (Wears a heart pendant)-Caring and Compassionate! Crafty Corn (Unicorn) (Wears a rainbow flower pendant)-Artistic and creative! Picky Piggy (Pig) (Wears an apple pendant)- Loves food and nutrition! Hoppy Hopscotch (Rabbit) (Wears a lightning bolt pendant)-Energetic and sometimes impatient! Kickin Chicken (Chicken) (Wears a star pendant)-Cool and confident! This series will have the critters going on adventures, playing games, learning lessons, and living their everyday lives. There even may be a potential romance! I want everyone to know that this series is not relevant to the lore of Poppy Playtime it's fanfiction. I know in the original lore they were children who were made into toys. I'm uploading it here so I can collect feedback (and praise) on my work. I hope you like it! Dogday and Catnap have been best friends for the longest time. However, after he has an unusual prophetic dream, he resolves to win the heart of a mysterious boy he meets at on their first day. Y/N had a really had time sleeping at night as a dedicated and talented scientist decided to let y/n test out their latest new toy known as catnap, a purple cat that emits sleeping gas from her mouth that can put anyone to sleep, which actually worked really well as y/n gets to keep the toy from the scientist as a gift and became best friends with catnap as they both played together in dreamland along with the rest of the smiling critters. Y/N could never been happier until the catnap toys were recalled and Playco. was shut down after some "incidents" that happened behind closed doors. But then, many years later after y/n graduated college and is now 21 years old, he was dared by his so-called friends that were completely drunk as hell to go into the factory and stay there for a whole night as y/n soon found himself back at playcare, completely run down and abandoned. he eventually found the smiling critters in the factory that are all filled with so much joy to see their old friends back and now they don't want him to leave as they are determined to turn him into a smiling critters like them so he can be with them...forever. Authors note: just a heads up, this is NON-CANNON with any of poppy playtime. Instead, it'll be my own version of poppy playtime, and there will be some moments based around the actual game.Complete
