Through The Screen

First of all, this is entirely based on a Reddit story I saw on TikTok I just thought it would be so good as a book idk where the Reddit post/story went but if you could find and link it that would be awesome. also some of it was edited and written by my friend @skinwearer on discord

This story, Through the Screen, follows the intense, emotionally charged journey of two childhood friends, Will and the narrator, whose deep bond begins to fray as high school pressures, misunderstandings, and secrets pull them apart. The narrator feels the distance growing when Will becomes increasingly absorbed in his phone, eventually discovering that Will has been confiding in someone else's online persona the narrator has fabricated. Desperate to understand and reconnect with Will, the narrator catfishes him under the alias "Alex," resulting in an intense, albeit deceptive, relationship.

As the friendship deteriorates in real life, the online relationship intensifies, and the narrator starts developing romantic feelings for Will. When the truth is finally exposed, the betrayal is devastating. However, through heartbreak and vulnerability, the two begin the painful process of rebuilding trust and finding a way forward, learning that love, friendship, and self-discovery are messy but worth fighting for.

This poignant narrative explores themes of honesty, identity, the complexities of growing up, and the delicate nature of human connection.
