Ayato Aishi was born broken. He was born without any emotions. Doctors thought he wouldn't live a normal life, but Ayato's mother, Jokichi Aishi, would help the young boy learn new emotions and become a "normal" boy. Due to his mother's love and patience, Ayato became "normal" and would grow to have a normal childhood. He would make three long lasting friendships. Ayato's life was perfect until he read a letter from his father, Ryota Aishi.

Ryota and Jokichi were in the United States for a business trip that would last eight weeks. They had abandoned Ayato for eight weeks. Ayato's life fell apart. What was he going to do? How would he be able to survive on his own? In a flash, fifteen years of trying to be normal disappeared in a flash. Ayato had become his broken, emotionless self which concerned his friends.

But an encounter with a senpai at Akademi High School, Ayato would regain those emotions and learn a new one: Love... or obsession.
