Dragon of Sand and Sorrow

Apep always believed she would hate humans. And she still does. They are greedy, arrogant, and worst of all, mirror images of the Primordial One, the original usurper. Apep would rather them all die so that she might get her revenge once and for all.

But when she absorbed the elemental lifeforms, they gave her their memories and feelings. Apep doesn't comprehend them. How could these creatures raised in her sacred halls come to love humanity and companionship? Desperate to understand, Apep dons a human form to walk among the people.

As she experiences humanity firsthand, she comes across the reincarnations of the other sages (though she adamantly refuses being a sage herself). Apep reconnects with them, and this eventually leads her to reconnecting with the incarnations of the three god-kings.
