His fingers tightened, knuckles pale.

"I was always meant to be a stepping stone. Something you walk over to get where you're meant to go."

His breath. Shaky. And was Barely there.

"But for you..."

He hesitated, as if the words hurt more than silence.

"For you, I chose differently."

His voice dropped, rough and honest in a way it never was in daylight.

"I will always have your back...whether you see it or not. Whether you want it or not."

A pause.

Then he gave him a warm smile as tears gush down his cheeks

" l will always have."

"And always will."

Not because fate told him to.

But because this...this was the only choice that ever felt like it was truly his.

What if after Draco's trial he died in tragedy because of the death eaters haters who's daughters and sons die in the war, who tortured him to death. and somehow...he when he woke up he was back at his old room? and then the next thing he knew he was again standing face to face with the young Harry Potter.
