The immense, cobalt-blue chandelier dominated the ballroom, casting a cold, dazzling light on the dance floor below. It was right beneath that brilliant fixture, during the partner-exchange segment of the dance, that I found myself facing him. He just rolled his eyes as I met his gaze before he spoke, the music nearly drowning out his low voice. "Ano nanamang trip mo?" I countered, my own voice tight with frustration. "Ikaw ba, ano nanamang problema mo?" His expression darkened, a familiar look of controlled irritation. "Bakit ba kase pumunta ka pa?" I held his stare, refusing to back down. "Kase gusto ko?" I got a glare from him before he spoke, his voice dropping to a harsh whisper, thin as air. "Hindi mo ba talaga ako titigilan babae ka" My patience snapped. The proximity was too much. "Ikaw ang ayaw akong tigilan lalake ka" "Tsk." The syllable was laced with pure contempt, and simultaneously, his hand he had placed on my waist for the dance tightened in an angry grip. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ His heart still bears the scars of that fateful night When the one got crushed and other lost the fight Both are critically injured but fate had a role for them. Does she recall that night of the sound of crushing steel? Or has her newfound purpose helped her heart to heal? Memories of what happened still remain A bittersweet feeling that brings pain Her touch can heal, her care can mend But the heart she broke, will it ever end? "One crash, two lives shattered... "Hating the one thing you love is a pain worse than losing it." - Wynther Fynne Clemenceau Wynther never had a dream-until he heard his father play the bass. In that moment, music became his purpose, his passion, his future. He dreamed of standing onstage, a bass in his hands, performing alongside the man who inspired him. But fate had other plans. His father's sudden death shattered his world, taking his dream with it. The music that once filled his heart with fire became a reminder of everything he lost. So, he let it go. For three years, Wynther drifted through life in muted grays-until he met Luna. Vibrant, stubborn, and full of dreams, she saw the light in him that he had long forgotten. She pulled him back into the music, back into the dream he thought he had buried. With her, the stage didn't seem so far away. With her, the dream didn't feel empty. With her, his world had color again. But love and loss have always played the same cruel tune in his life. And when Luna disappears, Wynther is left with only echoes of melodies they once shared-memories strung together by pain and longing. Will he walk away from music once more? Or will he learn that some dreams, even in the face of heartbreak, are worth chasing?
