Aya Nkem has always dreamed of working in fashion, even though her Cameroonian family of doctors in Paris wanted her to follow in their footsteps. After studying styling, she moves to New York to start her career at Vogue as an assistant stylist. But between her strict family's expectations and the tough fashion world, she has a lot to prove.

Then she meets Ethan Kennedy, a political journalist from the famous Kennedy family. Meanwhile, Ethan is tired of living in his family's shadow and trying to prove he can make it on his own. From the moment they meet, they clash. They argue all the time, but underneath it all, there's something else, something neither of them wants to admit.

When they're forced to work together on a big project, their rivalry gets even more complicated. Between career struggles, family drama, and feelings they can't ignore, Aya and Ethan have to figure out if they're enemies, teammates, or something more.

I sank deeper into my duvet as I shivered from the breeze that seeped through the cracks above the tinted window. I could hear faint murmurs on the other side of the door. The Murmurs turned into harsh whispers as I heard footsteps inching closer. I sunk further into the bed and shut my eyes tightly at the sound of the door creaking open. "Who are you fooling? I know you ain't sleep," the deep raspy voice spoke. I open my eyes to the old man smiling down at me with his hand behind his back. "Hey Grandpa." I sheepishly smiled before sitting up, "What are you doing here?" "Since you turn seven tomorrow, I thought that you deserve to open one of your presents earlier." He placed the dark sea green box before me that was secured with a golden ribbon. The silky fabric slipped between my small fingers as I pulled onto the ribbon, opening the box. Confusion overtook my excitement as I looked up at the old dark man, "what is it?" "A gift that has been passed down from every generation in the Lawson family." He smiled. I grabbed the circular shape necklace and narrowed my eyes on the engraving, "w-what does that say." I pointed out the symbols. "The Savior." He cooed. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> That was the last time I ever saw or heard of my grandfather. It has been a decade and no one ever truly knows what happened to him after that night. He just...disappeared, leaving no trace of evidence. It was like he never existed. Until this day, it still remains a mystery. ------------------------------------ After her grandfather mysteriously disappears before her seventh birthday, the Lawson family move back to Vancouver a decade later were truths and secrets have yet to be uncovered.
